Rock Against Hate Volumes 5 & 6 to Benefit Planned Parenthood and Kids In Need of Defense

New Jersey based Internet radio station BlowUpRadio.com has scheduled two new Rock Against Hate digital compilation albums to release on January 20, 2025, the same day as Donald Trump's second inauguration.

Rock Against Hate Volume 5 will benefit Planned Parenthood

Rock Against Hate Volume 6 will benefit Kids In Need of Defense (KIND)
Each volume will feature 30 different original songs, many exclusive to these compilations, as incentives to donate to the respective organizations. When listeners donate, they will receive streaming and download access to one or both compilations.

KIND assists unaccompanied minors fleeing catastrophe and violence in their country of origin who seek a safe haven here in the United States - children who the incoming administration vows to detain and deport. For more information please go to https://supportkind.org

"Kids in Need of Defense (KIND) is immensely grateful to Rock Against Hate for their support of the children we serve," said KIND Chief Development Officer Hannah Chotiner-Gardner. "Initiatives such as these align with our mission to protect the rights and well-being of unaccompanied children and highlight the compassion and care of so many towards them. We appreciate Rock Against Hate's work to support justice for the most vulnerable, using their talents as a force for good."

Planned Parenthood provides reproductive health care and education, ranging from abortion to cancer screenings. Trump and his allies have made routine life-saving procedures for women illegal in several states, allowing many young women to die of easily preventable causes surrounding their pregnancies. For more information please go to https://www.plannedparenthood.org

"While my initial thought was to just curl up in a corner for the next four years, I want to put my festering anger/fear to good use," said Lazlo, the founder of BlowUpRadio.com, of his motivation to pull this together, "thankfully so did a lot of musicians, otherwise this would not be possible". Lazlo organized the first Rock Against Hate compilation when Trump was first inaugurated in 2017, followed by volume 2 in 2018 and volume 3 in 2019. A 4th volume was released when the U.S. Supreme Court overturned Roe vs. Wade in 2022.

"“Friend of a Friend” is based on a couple of real stories I heard from older female relatives. Prior to the Roe decision in 1973, in many states, women who needed an abortion had to gamble they’d live through the procedure, remain free of infection, and not get arrested for a felony. We can’t go back to those days. As a woman, a mother, and a grandmother I have to support other women and this song is a start." - Katye Kellye & The Interruption

"The Rock Against Hate series not only gathers some of the most dedicated members of the music scene, but also seeks to help others by consciously providing support to communities who need it. In these uncertain times, it's refreshing to see such an involved assortment of individuals come together for a common goal. Thanks for letting me be a part of it once again!" - J. Thoubbs

""Forgotten Child of an Absent Father" is a true story - and I submitted it in response to the argument that a fetus is a living child and the Christian God cares for all children. To this day (and I'm 56 years old) I cannot find one person to explain why God never rescued me from horrible physical, sexual, and mental abuse I suffered from birth to well into my 40's. If they are going to force births, they need to provide the same diligence to lifetime care. This isn't a debate about when life begins, it's a patriarchal religious power grab." - Pearl Manhattan

"A Woman has the right to choose when they want children, like a man has the right to be free, like all life has the right to live." - The Maravines

"When I heard about this project, I knew I wanted to donate a track, I also wanted to make something new so I can put my heart into it. I looked for vocal samples under the term 'women power' and found the sample, 'the people are the power' I sat right up in my chair and the flow was on, over the next several hours, I worked on the track and believe I found something powerful to help promote the message that women have a right to choose what happens to their bodies. We are the power, men and women, we need each other. It's silly we even need this project, however I'm more than happy to add to it. Thank you Lazlo for coordinating this and creating this opportunity to help Planned Parenthood during a time they need it most." - Irish Fitz

"I feel so grateful to be able to express myself via this collective statement, rather than sitting by feeling depressed about the whole thing." - The Cucumbers
"Rock Against Hate” Compilation Benefits Planned Parenthood in Defense of Roe V. Wade

In a show of support for women’s right to choose, RockAgainstHate.org, released its fourth compilation today to raise funds for Planned Parenthood to voice their concern for the SCOTUS decision to overturn Roe v. Wade.

The compilation, bringing together exclusive, previously unreleased songs from artists from New Jersey and around the world, is available to download for a donation of $10 or more at www.RockAgainstHate.org. All proceeds for Volume 4 go to Planned Parenthood.

“Rock Against Hate is a myriad of people, who may not agree on all things, but we all agree that today’s Supreme Court decision on Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization puts women’s health, and their right to choose what they do with their bodies, at risk.,” says Lazlo (founder of BlowUpRadio.com and curator of 'Rock Against Hate' Compilation). “We can’t change the decision, but we can voice our disagreement with the verdict and raise money for Planned Parenthood, an organization that has been at the forefront of women’s health for over a hundred years.”

Artists contributing songs to the compilation include: Amanda Rose Riley, Bern Strong, Bruce Donnola, Catherine Wacha, Chris Fox & the Beasts, Ciara Zwicker, Dansped & The Carpool to Oblivion, Defecting Grey, Diego Allessandro, driving underwater, Ferocious Designs, Greg McGarvey, Happy Joe Canzano, Irish Fitz, J. Thoubbs, Jeff DeVito, Jim Testa, Katye Kellye & The Interruption, Keith Monacchio, Loner, Lupe Dragon, Mark Parker, MHB Instrumentals, Motherface, Neil Howell, Pearl Manhattan, Pete Jager, Quiz Show, RP, Shotgun Bill, Smallpox, Steam Enginess, Sunblossom, The Cucumbers, The Fisherman & The Sea, The Gattsville Creeper, The Get Away Gang, The Maravines, The Mighty Alrighty, The Random Hubiak, Tony Appleseed, & Vincent Brue

See full track listing below.

Planned Parenthood's mission is to ensure all people have access to the care and resources they need to make informed decisions about their bodies, their lives, and their futures. Founded in 1916, Planned Parenthood is a trusted health care provider, educator, and passionate advocate here in the U.S. as well as a strong partner to health and rights organizations around the world. Each year, Planned Parenthood delivers vital sexual and reproductive health care, sex education, and information to millions of people.

RockAgainstHate.org was established in 2017 in the wake of what was considered a divisive election with musicians coming together to release original exclusive songs to raise funds towards anti-hate efforts and equal rights. To date, thousands have been raised for organizations such as Kids In Need of Defense (KIND), The Trevor Project and Planned Parenthood from the first three volumes.
