Election Day is Tuesday. If you haven't already voted by mail, please get out and vote.
Voter turn out tends to be lower when there are not big positions on the ballot, but all elections are important for the health of our democracy.
You may find it harder to find info on the candidates, and not want to do like I did, and search each candidate's name for info.
This site may not have info on all candidates, but does have info on many of the candidates: https://www.ballotready.org/nj
Two quick things I want to say on a personal level about this election:
1. if you see a candidate say they are for "parental rights", don't be fooled. "Parental Rights" is the current right wing code words for "Anti-LGBTQ". I urge you not to vote for these candidates. This can be especially important in school board races, where it is usually most difficult to find info on a candidate.
2. Back in May of 2020 there were state officials (I'm not going to say which party they were from, but it is pretty obvious), that said we need to reopen everything, no masking mandate, no social distancing. They said the quiet part out loud by saying, yes, people will die, especially the old and immunocompromised, but reopening businesses is more important than their lives (kind of "ironic" seeing as these same people chant, "all lives matter"...) Please don't re-elect these people.
So please, go #RockTheVote Thank you
