Lazlo's Corner

I was talking to someone this week who asked how BlowUpRadio.com makes money. I said, we don't.

I've mentioned it before but it bears repeating now and again, that this is a hobby and a labor of love for me, If I was doing BlowUpRadio.com to make money I would not still be doing it 22 years later. I've seen plenty of other sites and stations that have come and gone that were trying to make money. I don't begrudge them for trying to, but like being an indie musician, it isn't easy to make money doing something like this.

Since I never intended to make money doing this, I've never been frustrated or let down by the money I spend doing this every year. Doing BlowUpRadio.com, and being able to promote all the amazing music I love so much, brings me more joy than you can possibly understand. I can't imagine my life without BlowUpRadio.com.

Thank you for being part of BlowUpRadio.com, and bringing me, and the music I play, into your homes!

While I have never tried to make BlowUpRadio.com profitable, we do ask people for money for benefits, like our upcoming second annual Giving a Second Chance: a Benefit for National Foundation for Transplants (March 4th & 5th on BlowUpRadio.com).

I was hoping to be able to announce all the info for Giving a Second Chance today, but we are still finalizing things.

We will have that full announcement in the next newsletter (if not a special mid-week announcement before then), As it cur

rently stands we will have 21 different live performances during the webathon, and the compilation you can download by donating to the National Foundation for Transplants is expected to contain almost 50 previously unreleased songs!

There is still room if any musicians wants to perform or contribute a previously unreleased song to the compilation, just reach out to me.
