Lazlo's Corner

January 31st, 2016, Live365 shut it's doors, BlowUpRadio.com lost it's internet station, and a little part of me died...ok, maybe a bigger part of me than I realized until this week.

Last fall I found out that someone had purchased Live365 with the intention of bringing it back as an internet radio service for small broadcasters like BlowUpRadio.com. Their press release said it would be within a few weeks.

Months went by, with no news on if/when live365 was coming back.

In early January Live365 let broadcasters sign up to be notified when they were coming back. I signed up, but when weeks went by again with no follow up, I figured it was a long shot at best.

Much to my surprise last Monday evening (March 13th), I was notified that Live365 was back and I could start my station.

It took 24 hours to get BlowUpRadio.com's station back up and running (thank you snow day or it probably would have taken longer).

I can't even put into words how good feels to be back on the air, able to broadcast live, taking your requests!

This week we begin our new music shows live, Monday at 8pm for our NJ Music show, Tuesday at 8pm for our Lazlo's Den show. I hope you will tune into them, and tune into BlowUpRadio.com's internet station whenever you want to hear the best music coming from the Garden State (and beyond on Lazlo's Den)!

I'll also be on the air sporadically to broadcast live during the week. To find out when, make sure you are following @BlowUpRadio on Twitter.

Speaking of good music, musicians check this out. A friend of mine from the local music scene, Dw. Dunphy, is putting together a free music compilation:

Volume 3 of The Co-Op Communique is coming in May

The point of the Co-Op Communique is to present indie musicians in a manner where new music can actually be experienced.

Co-Op provides indie musicians a forum where it is possible to reach new ears. The artists donate a song. I ask for no money from them. I'll pay for press releases and Facebook ads. When you think about it, donating a song really is a serious investment. Ask you local car dealership if they'll just randomly donate a car and see how they respond!

So I'm sending this message in hopes that you'll perhaps contact me and we can discuss what we're trying to accomplish.

Who is on it so far? The Ravines, Beki Hemingway, Jerry Woods, Mike Indest, Michael Knott, And How, Lyndsay Wells, Scarborough Affair, The b-attitudes, Smile Factory, Daniel Amos, Rob Ross, Crab Rangoons, Didi Favreau, Core Device, The Successful Failures, Eddie Parrino, Andy Klingensmith, Bill Shaouy, Captain Wilberforce

You can contact Dw. Dunphy directly at dw.dunphy@gmail.com.
