Hey Everyone,

Wednesday night on Lazlo's Den - an interview with OBI FERNANDEZ

Last night I tried an experiment by doing, Lazlo’s Den Concert Spotlight, and played songs from a bunch of bands playing in NJ/NYC/Philly this week (you can see the playlist below), and I asked for your feedback.

The feedback was overwhelmingly positive, in fact there was no negative feedback (I can take it you know LOL!).

You have spoken, and so I am going to try to keep doing the Lazlo’s Den Concert Spotlight every Monday.

The dates are set!

Over 60 bands are already signed up to perform live during the webathon as we try to raise money to a cause near and dear to me (my wife suffers from ankylosing spondylitis).

If you are a musician and want to be involved, e-mail me. There is still time to be involved, and we would be happy to have you!

We’ll have more info as we get closer to October.

The next BlowUpRadio.com Free Concert Series show @ Buddie’s Tavern with be BlowUpRadio.com’s 12th Anniversary Bash on Saturday November 10th. Mark your calendars now! Buddie's Tavern is located at 277 Johnsons Lane, Parlin (Sayreville), NJ

Lazlo’s Corner

OBI FERNANDEZ is known to many as the frontman of the ska/soul band, Westbound Train (and maybe known to a few NJ ska/punk fans as the trombone player in late 90's band, Day 19). On his new solo debut, "CONFESSIONS, WAVES & THE GARDEN STATE" (due out on 9/25), Obi digs deeper into the soul sound, but with a more of a reggae/folk vibe than ever before. The result is a wonderful album that I am enjoying listening to first thing in the morning to get me motivated for the day, or at the end of a long, hard day, to remind me that life is good. Obi's voice is a golden as ever, and the laid back nature of this batch of songs allows the beauty of his vocals to shine.
Obi Fernandez will be playing the Crossroads on 8/30 as part of King Django's Ska bday

COLIN SCHILLER AND THE REACTIONS album, “ENDLESS SUMMER”, put a smile on my face. These guys from Brooklyn make pop rock like I used to hear on the radio in the late 70’s and early 80’s, complete with the hooks and the vibe of the era. Just check out their video for, “one Jenny”, and you’ll be reminded of the early days of MTV (when it stood for Music Television). Mega Fun!

Speaking of music videos, VAL EMMICH’s new album, “BULLDOZZZER”, comes out next week, and he has released a fascinating video for the lead off single, “TENDEREST”. Val’s last album, “aide memoire”, topped my best of list last year, and it sounds like the new album is picking up where the last one left off.

This week on Lazlo's Den Presents New Music we have new music from:
