The next BlowUpRadio.com Free Concert Series show at Buddie’s Tavern for is on Saturday March 21st with, Echofission, double-breasted, and Jonathan Andrew.

And now it’s time for the concert picks of the week

Saturday Echofission returns to the Thirsty Toad. As you know Echofission put out my favorite album of last year, but the real reason to be at this show is because also on the bill are Mike June & The Dirty Doves. Mike June used to be a big part of the northern NJ scene, but last year he up and moved to Texas. This is a rare return to NJ, so you should definitely try to make it to this special show.

Jim Testa (Jersey Beat)

Saturday, February 28
ROADSIDE GRAVES, The Measure (SA), New Dress, Anyday Parade - The Court Tavern, 124 Church St. New Brunswick - 9 pm, $6, 21+

Metuchen's Roadside Graves are masters at storytelling alt-country with gently rollicking licks and the mesmerizing vocals of John Gleason. They'll be previewing songs from their upcoming album. The Measure (SA) play crunchy punk with male/female vocals and the inimitable Mikey Erg on drums, while New Dress are a boy/girl duo playing charming acoustic folk/punk.

Jared Migden (WRSU)

It's about time I get to write about a venue that's not about to play host to a "last show ever." In fact, just the opposite has recently occurred. IM Automata Chino has been holding shows in Jersey City for the better part of the last month, and this Friday night, they will be hosting piano-pop group Like Trains & Taxis and the psychedelic rockers Starfish HQ.

That's all for this week folks.

Peace,
Lazlo
