Hey Everyone,

This past Saturday was one of the best BlowUpRadio.com Free Concert Series shows ever. I know I say that after everyone, and I mean it every time. The sets that New Day Dawn, Zigman Bird, and The Brixton Riot, put on were incredible. If you weren’t there (or didn’t listen to the webcast on BlowUpRadio.com), you missed out on an amazing night of music.

This Friday we’re doing another BlowUpRadio.com Free Concert Series show at Buddie’s Tavern. Will this show top the last one? Be there and find out.

I know for the last few weeks I have been hyping up that the amazing band from Georgia, The Winter Sounds, would be at the show. Sadly, they have had to cancel their tour due to a broken down van.

While it is unfortunate that they have had to cancel their set, the show is still going to rock because the great Six To Eight Mathematics are going to now play the show. The show will also feature sets from Kosmic Daydream, and Alter Ego. Three great bands, and as always, the show is FREE!

Yes it will also be broadcast on BlowUpRadio.com, but you’ll want to see the show live to really experience the concert.

Buddie’s Tavern is located at 277 Johnsons Lane in Parlin (Sayreville), NJ.

If you missed the in-studio interview with Alter Ego last week on Lazlo’s Den, you can now stream it at wwwLazlosDen.com

And this Wednesday on Lazlo’s Den don’t miss special in-studio guests, Particle Zoo. They’ll be hanging out, talking about their new MP3 releases, and playing some tunes live and acoustic.

Next week, the big announcement about Banding Together: The Benefit For The Spondylitis Association Of America.

Although if you want a sneak peak at the line-up, the ad is up on both BlowUpRadio.com & LazlosDen.com.

And now it's time for this week's Pissed Off!

Hallelujah, the Michael Phelps show is finally over.

Seriously, it's impressive that Phelps won all those medals, and that one win by a fingernail certain looked like it was done by a super human. But why was it every time I turned on the Olympics always in the lower corner was "51 minutes until Michael Phelps", "23 minutes until Michael Phelps".

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the Olympics supposed to be about world unity, not just one swimmer?

Of course now that the Olympics are over, we can get to what's really important, the Democratic National Convention this week, and the Republican one next week.

Talk about unity...never before have I seen both parties with such a lack of unity going into the conventions.

Some of Hillary Clinton's supporters still feel she was cheated during the primaries and should have won. Personally, I think that's bullshit. She fought the long, hard campaign, much longer than her finances allowed (the fact that her campaign is still multi-millions in debt, proves that), and that was her prerogative. But when it comes down to it, she lost in all the numbers. To say that Clinton should be the candidate is using the same faulty logic the Bush administration has employed for the last 8 years.

On the other side of the table, the religious right is still unsure about John McCain, because he doesn't stand for everything they do.

Here's my question, why is the religious right such a big part of what is considered a Republican these days? A Republican is supposed to be for a small government, and letting people's private lives be private. yet, these days, the hot button issue for Republicans seems to be the right to life cause. Correct me if I am wrong, but not only has the Supreme Court already decided this issue, but shouldn't Republicans not be for stopping people from doing what they want to in their private lives? That used to be what you stood for. The same goes for drugs, why is it the Republicans are the ones who have put through the toughest drug legislation, incarcerating people whose only crime was wanting to get high in the privacy of their home. I am not pro drugs, but I agree with Congressman Barney Frank who recently tried to push through a bill decriminalizing marijuana on the grounds that law enforcement people have more important things to be dealing with.

But I digress...

Over the next two weeks we'll hear a lot of speeches from a lot of people claiming to know what's best for you and America. Sadly, both conventions will have the same predictable speeches, just replace different words to show the different sides and what they support.

Still, it's important to watch these speeches, and watch them with a critical ear for what they are saying. Get out your bullshit detectors, because they will all say things that should set them off even in the most ardent supporter.

I've often said that I am a supporter of Barack Obama, and while Joe Biden has his faults (foot in mouth disease, I believe they call it), I think he is a good running mate. That said, I can't quite get sucked into the campaign slogan of "change you can believe in". Probably because I'm a cynical bastard.

But I can honestly say, "I want to believe".

That's all for this week folks.

Peace,
