Hey Everyone,
I hope everyone had a great Independence Day and enjoyed our freedom from the oppressive rule of the British.
I unfortunately spent a good deal of the long weekend proving my DEPENDENCE to technology.
Last Monday (June 30th), I went to boot up my computer and Windows would not let me into my computer. Neat! The problem was finally fixed Thursday evening. I thought about writing a Pissed Off! About the “fun” my wife and I went through to fix it, but it’s in the past now and I’d rather leave it there.

However, there are some things from my recent past I am happy to write about.

Just before my computer had a meltdown I did a major overhaul to BlowUpRadio.com's webcast. Lots of new songs in the rotation and I upgraded the sound quality to a higher standard. Hopefully you can hear the difference.
Oh, and if you happen to hear strange things on the webcast (you'll know what I mean if you hear it), there are more big changes in the works that I am not quite ready to divulge yet. So those "strange sounds" are tests for the next generation of BlowUpRadio.com's webcast. If the tests go well, I may be able to announce something in next week's newsletter.

The next BlowUpRadio.com Free Concert at Buddie's Tavern will be on Frirday July 18th and will feature sets by The Break Evens (featuring members of Mazeffect and Slappy), Souls Release, and The Crayons!

I finally got my review of the Wave Gathering up this week, and one of the real highlights for me was Spiraling's set. Their new CD, "time travel made easy", is incredible, and you really need to hear their live renditions of those songs. Good thing you can when they play The Knitting Factory this Thursday.

For garage rock fans, it's always worth the cost of admission to catch the ageless, incomparable Fleshtones, who still rock as hard today as they did back in 1978. On this bill, you also get Detroit's hard-rocking Dirtbombs, who combine soul and punk with their garage, and New Jersey young'uns Titus Andronicus, who carry on the multi-guitar garage rock attack into the 21st Century.
