Supporting New Jersey's Local Music Scene Since 2000

Album of the Month
Citizens Band Radio - "CBR"

Earlier this year I gave a glowing review to a 3 song EP that I received from New Jersey's Citizens Band Radio. Those three songs begin their brand new full length CD, "CBR". On it, they continue to blend bluegrass, mountain music, classic country, and southern rock into something beautiful. Pedal steel guitar and mandolin mixes with twangy vocals, and songs with classic country type titles like, "ole Kentucky whiskey blues", "my ramblin ways", and, "band of outlaws". Fans of artists like Merle Haggard, Lynyrd Skynyrd, the Jayhawks, Old Crow Medicine Show, Warren Haynes, and even the Grateful Dead, will all likely find something on this CD that they will enjoy. "18 wheels" even sounds like a country infused gospel song. Citizens Band Radio may not save your soul, but they can certainly move it with their fine debut album.

Message From Lazlo

Hi Everyone,

So I'm coming along on the new BlowUpRadio.com Webcast. In fact, I am right here, right now, setting myself a deadline. The new (and hopefully improved) BlowUpRadio.com Webcast will be up and running by Thanksgiving. That doesn't give me a lot of time, but by setting a deadline hopefully I can stay focused and get it done.

~~~~~~~~~~
A couple of up-coming shows to promote:
As you probably know by now, the Folk You! concert series is going on hiatus after the Dec. 5th show, so hopefully Jim Testa and I can see all of you at the final two shows.
And while I'm mentioning upcoming shows at Buddie's Tavern, mark your calendars now, BLOWUPRADIO.COM'S ANNIVERSARY SHOW IS SATURDAY DECEMBER 8TH! I'll be announcing the line-up soon, and it's a good one, a very good one.
~~~~~~~~~~

Last week I started doing Notes From The Den, a weekly recap of literally notes from doing Lazlo's Den. Info on some of the songs I've played, and also whatever other shit comes out of my head. I told you last week to join the Lazlo's Den e-mail group, by sending an e-mail to: lazlosden-subscribe@yahoogroups.com, which I still recommend, so that each week you get it directly in your Inbox, but you can now also read it directly at LazlosDen.com.

Also, LazlosDen.com's interview archive now has the two live songs that The Future Kings Of Nowhere recorded here, up for you to stream, along with an excerpt of their interview. Definitely check these live songs out, as they sound incredible.

Tonight (Monday Nov. 5th) at 8pm ET on Lazlo's Den I will be broadcasting a fascinating interview I recorded last week with James Taylor, the publisher of Shocked And Amazed, the only journal dedicated to the sideshow attractions (fire eaters, sword swallowers, etc.), and burlesque shows. This hour long interview was so much fun to record, and I hope you all have as much fun listening to it.

And don't forget to check out the latest BlowUpRadio.com Podcast. This week's podcast features new music from: The Successful Failures, and Kosmic Daydream, as well as other tunes from Rachel, Robin Renee, Lisa M. Bello, Lloyd United, Evergreen File, Sounds of Greg D, and Citizens Band Radio.

Don't forget to check out BlowUpRadio.com & LazlosDen.com for new CD reviews of albums by the Future Kings Of Nowhere, Critical Me, and West Indian Girl.

Peace,
Lazlo
