Supporting New Jersey's Local Music Scene Since 2000

Message From Lazlo

Hi Everyone,

The poll has been up for about a month now, and some of you have taken the time to vote on the future of BlowUpRadio.com.

The final tally is in:

57% Podcast

43% Continue to webcast on Live365

0% Add more songs to the jukebox

So what does this mean for BlowUpRadio.com?

Well, obviously the jukebox is not very popular :)

The podcast option slightly edged out the Live365 webcast.

Therefore, I am announcing that I will be bringing back the BlowUpRadio.com podcast (which I tried to do briefly last year). The first new installment will be up soon, and I will send out an announcement when it is ready. Many bands have already sent back a signed royalty waiver form, but if you haven't, please do so. You can download the form, here.

However, the new podcast does not mean the end of the Live365 webcast...at least not yet.

Since the vote was pretty close, I have decided to keep the webcast up and running for now. Of course, the webcast remaining up is still dependent on the ongoing negotiations between internet radio and SoundExchange. For more information on that go to SaveNetRadio.org.

I am considering remodeling the Live365 webcast to have different local music based programming. If anyone has any thoughts or ideas on what they would like to hear on the webcast, please let me know.

LOCAL MUSIC NEWS
BOBBY STRANGE SIGNS WITH WESTWOOD MUSIC GROUP

He has been called the Jersey Shore's "best kept secret," "the world's greatest unknown songwriter" and "the greatest songwriter the world has never known." And these are just a few of his monikers. Now, his anonymity may be short-lived.

Jersey Shore songwriting legend Bobby Strange has signed an exclusive, multi-year contract (rumors are it could amount to millions) with Westwood Music Group for Worldwide Film and Television Music representation.

Commenting to a KABD radio entertainment reporter, the always indignant Strange quipped, "the millions mean nothing to me -- the thing I find most rewarding is being able to tell anyone along the way who wouldn't give me a gig to kiss my *@%!"
