Message From Lazlo

Hi Everyone,

I really need to become a healthier person...or get out of my day job...last week I caught another virus from someone at work, putting me behind on updating things on the site. So I apologize for no new podcast, Album of the Week, or BlowUpRadio.com Live. The previous installments of all 3 are still up for your enjoyment.

But now that I am feeling better I will be ready to rock out this Friday at the Loop Lounge as BlowUpRadio.com co-sponsors another show there with our friends at WRSU. And what a show this is going to be! It's been awhile, due to scheduling differences, since I've been able to get Hey Tiger and Hero Pattern to be on the bill of a BlowUpRadio.com show, so managing to get both of them on the same bill, along with the always entertaining Souls' Release, is a dream come true. The show starts at 10pm, and Jared Migden (WRSU) & myself will be co-hosting the evening and that means anything can happen.

Now I am going to give the rest of this column to repost a message by a friend of mine, Gary Wein, who runs Upstage Radio, another great internet radio station that runs my show Lazlo's Den every Thursday night at 8pm.

Ok, so I really didn't want to do this but the costs from the fire have really got us hurting. We're looking at putting together a benefit show to help raise money for the station. In case you haven't heard, on the day before New Years Eve there was an electrical fire in the studio. It basically knocked out a wall, carpet and the entire electrical system. All in all, the costs have added up a lot and the work is still being done on fixing things up. Since things have to be paid up front, I'm pretty much wiped out right now.

Even though we're just a small online station, I'd like to think that the station and magazine are doing their part to promote indie artists. I know that some people don't like benefits that aren't related to cancer or things like that, so I'm not expecting everyone to care. But if you'd like to see magazines and online stations promote your work, things like fires can go a long way to wiping a business out. Your support is greatly appreciated.

So, if you feel so inclined, we'd love to collect some autographed CDs or t-shirts for a 50/50 drawing and if you're in a band and might be interested in helping us out please let me know if you can play on:

Sat, February 11th at the Wonder Bar in Asbury Park, New Jersey. A nice sized club with plenty of parking and good food/drink.

Email me at info@upstageradio.com ASAP if interested.

Peace,
Lazlo

Skyline Rodeo - 'long drive to Iceland'

Skyline Rodeo is a quartet of indie math noise rock with a unique pop sensibility that is the result of hard work and good times. Hard work yields both the signature spastic and more melodic styles of post-punk. Good times are just part of the undeniable charm and magic...
