2. MESSAGE FROM LAZLO
I want to thank everyone for making last night one of the coolest nights of my life. 5 incredible bands played to a nearly packed Broadway Central Cafe to celebrate my birthday. It doesn't get any better than that. Big thanks to Chris Barry, Wayne and everyone else at the Broadway Central Cafe that helped make the show happen (especially everyone who fixed the soundboard when it decided to die during CLEAR SHOT's set). Thanks to everyone who came out to celebrate with me (especially those who bought me drinks and/or danced with me during the ATOM BEAT's set).
And most of all thanks to all the bands. Putting together a show isn't always easy and when you are dealing with several bands that have never met each other (some of which I had never met in person until last night), you never know how the show is going to go, but all of these bands came with one thought in mind, and that was to have fun playing. There were no egos, there were no complaints about sharing gear, this show was all about 5 great local acts having an opportunity to rock and roll. It's nearly 24 hours after the show, and I am still on a natural high from how cool the show was.
Thank you RICH LANCIA (Parlez may be long gone, but you still know how to rock), VAL EMMICH (like Rich, even without a full band, you rock like a full on band would), CLEAR SHOT (who even recorded a special introduction for the night that had me in stitches), PARTICLE ZOO (although I'm not sure I want that song re-titled, "Party in Lazlo's pants" ;) ), and the ATOM BEAT (Jim, it wouldn't be a rock & roll show if someone didn't get sick, not only am I glad it wasn't me, but I'm glad that you were ok enough to finish the set. That's professionalism...or insanity;) ).
I hope no one missed this show, but if you did, I hope to be able to air it in the near future on blowupradio.com.
