2. MESSAGE FROM LAZLO
Happy Mother's Day!
Finally the newsletter is back to being sent on Sunday when it should be. So how is everyone?
I want to thank everyone that came out to the Plum St Pub on Thursday night for a night of great music. Special thanks to Josh Van Ness, or as his friends call him, "Jose Cuervo" ;), Small a.m., who's bassist, Jim Lovegrove, also recently celebrated a birthday (Happy Birthday Jim!), and Pole Position, who won over the crowd of people unfamiliar with their sound very quickly with thier original tunes. It was a fun party and I can't wait until next year to do it again. Oh wait that's right, I don't have to wait until next year.
This coming Saturday is another chance to help celebrate my Birthday (ironically this birthday is not a big one for me, so tune in next year when it is a big one and see how big the celebration is). Come out to the Broadway Central Cafe (114 Broadway, South Amboy) for what is bound to be an even more raucus party than the last one. It's 18 to enter/21 to drink and it's only $6 to see 5 of NJ's best bands!!!
The fun begins at 9pm sharp with a performance by RICH LANCIA. I used to go see this guy all the time when he was the frontman of the mid 90's band, PARLEZ. It's great to see that he's still making good music, as can be heard in songs like, "touch" and "drama queen".
Following Rich will be a solo acoustic set by the soon to be famous VAL EMMICH. Come see him play a small intimate venue while you still can.
CLEAR SHOT takes the stage next. These kids (I believe the oldest is 20), already sound like old pros, making mainstream rock without trying to sound like the Nicklebacks or Creeds of the world (thank god for that).
Then let the true insanity begin with what will no doubt be a spirited live performance from PARTICLE ZOO. No matter how many times I see these guys live, they always rock out and make me wish I was cool enough to wear a P Zoo jumpsuit.
Closing out the night will be the ATOM BEAT. This band rocks with pure punkably attitude! Miss them and you'll regret it.
So show up early (the show begins at 9pm sharp), and stay late, because this party is going to rock!
