1. MESSAGE FROM LAZLO

Thought for the week: How stupid does KFC think we are? They are actually running an ad where George Costanza is making fun of burger fast food chains for covering their foods in multiple condiments to hide the inferior meat. A few seconds later he describes KFC's chicken as being "double breaded" for extra flavor. Is their chicken that inferior that it needs to be covered in double breading to hide it? Food for thought as they say...

On to NJ music news. Last week I mentioned wanting to start a new Local Concert Series on blowupradio.com. I even put up a poll asking what day and time you would want it to run. Well, things have changed in the last few days, and there will no longer be one concert series on blowupradio.com. Response was so overwhelming, that there will be TWO!

Beginning on Monday March 25th, you can tune in every Monday night at 9pm for Artist Amp Live, a new weekly series spotlighting the best local concerts that Artist Amplification puts on (and believe me, they put on a lot of great local concerts). Best of all, the show will be hosted by long time NJ musician and Artist Amp guru, Andy Gesner, which means finally you will get to hear another voice on blowupradio.com.

Then beginning Wednesday March 27th, tune in every Wednesday night at 9pm for @ the Show, another concert series hosted by yours truly, that will spotlight other great concerts by NJ artists.

Both shows already have some great artists lined up, and a schedule for what bands will appear on the premiere episodes will be posted on blowupradio.com and artistamplification.com later this week. As I stated last week, if your local band is interested in being recorded for possible use on the series, drop me a line @ lazlo@blowupradio.com.

In other news, I heard a practice session for a new band called Double Breasted today, and their music is incredible. It gave me chills listening to it, and it gives me great pleasure to announce that blowupradio.com in association with Artist Amplification will be co-sponsoring their debut show at Maxwell's on April 6th. The show is also the CD release party for the new Particle Zoo album, which from what I've heard from it already, is incredible (blowupradio.com has been playing, "sleeping again" from the forthcoming CD). Also on the bill is the always electrifying Hero Pattern (formerly known as Nebulous Thoughts), and Planet Janet, whose new album. "nice socks", I am listening to right now and like their website's name (www.PlanetJanetRocks.com), the album does rock!

And I will leave you this week with this little description of Double Breasted, since I purposely did not describe their sound...yet. From the band themselves:

"we aren't trying to be different, we just are..."
