1. MESSAGE FROM LAZLO

Lazlo here again with another blowupradio.com newsletter. This week I'd like to take a moment to talk about some cool shows I caught in the last week.

Friday night I had the honor of introducing (and getting a good plug for blowupradio.com), former Outcry drummer, Jon Leidersdorff's band, Blowup (no relation to the station in case you were wondering, although I have known Jon for years), as they rocked Hooligan's anniversary bash. Blowup always puts on an electrifying live show, and the other night was no exception. Tracks from their new album, "the audio/video EP" can now be heard on our webcast.

I also had the opportunity to see Logs in the Mainstream over at the Internet Cafe in Red Bank. A band that consists of a singer/guitarist, a bass player/bag pipe player (yes, I did say bag pipe player) and a drum machine, could easily sound awful, but Mole and Robert Dorn (as well as the drum machine) blend together to make a uniquely original, and very cool sound, as witnessed by tracks like "with a little death on the side" as heard on our webcast.

Lastly a big thanks to Evelyn Forever for allowing me to broadcast live tracks from their recent show At Maxwells in Hoboken. It was a great show, and thanks to Evelyn Forever and dcn.com (which webcasted the entire concert), I am able to share some of their new songs with you. This week I am premiering their brand new song, "super ok", which was played for the first time at this show.

Remember to check our concert calendar for all upcoming shows. Go out and support local music by seeing bands live!
